Tampa, FL (September 4, 2021) - A 79-year-old man from Tampa died in a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday, September 4th. The collision took place just after midnight on Interstate 275 just north of Interstate 4.
According to the Flordia Highway Patrol, a man was driving a motorized scooter on I-275 when he spotted a vehicle that was disabled in the center lane. As the man went to assist the driver of the disabled vehicle, a 44-year-old woman from Tampa rashed her vehicle into the man's scooter and an SUV that had also stopped to help at the scene. The scooter driver suffered critical injuries and died as a result of the collision. There were no other injuries reported.
Police are investigating the accident at the time. There is no word on any potential charges. No further information is available.
