Tampa, FL (July 2, 2018) – A Hillsborough deputy was injured by cuts in an accident that took place in Tampa. The accident happened on Macdill Avenue when another vehicle turned in front of him.
A Hillsborough deputy was injured yesterday when he was involved in the crash. 41-year-old Deputy Eric King suffered a cut to the top of his head. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital. The other driver was identified as 33-year-old Jessie Ray Williams. Williams complained of a sore knee but stayed at the scene. The accident took place around 4:55 p.m.
At the time, King was driving north in a marked police cruiser that belonged to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. King neared the upcoming intersection of Columbus Drive and said that Williams was driving a 2018 Lexus. The Lexus turned in front of him heading east on Columbus.
King’s Dodge then struck the passenger side of the Lexus. This caused it to flip onto its roof.
Tampa Police came to the scene to investigate the accident.
