Tampa, FL (January 9, 2020) - The Tampa Police Department was on the scene of a fatal crash on Thursday, January 9th. The crash was reported around 11:13 a.m. on Bayshore Boulevard near the intersection with W. Julia Avenue.
According to reports, a Pinch a Penny truck left the roadway and struck the jogger while he was on the shoulder of the roadway. The jogger then fell over a concrete barrier and into the Tampa Bay. The jogger was taken to a nearby hospital where they were later pronounced dead. Authorities have not identified the victim at this time.
Following an investigation, the truck driver was charged with DUI. There are no further details available.
