Tampa, FL (September 5, 2019) - A female pedestrian was killed in a crash that took place on US 301 in Tampa. The collision was reported around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4th.
According to reports, a 20-year-old female pedestrian from Pinellas Park, FL was walking northbound on 301 when she was struck by a car driven by a 43-year-old male from Pennsylvania. The driver told police that he could not see the pedestrian and that he made an evasive maneuver in an attempt to avoid a crash. The woman, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. At this time, it does not appear as though alcohol played a role in the crash. It is unclear whether charges will be filed.
