Tampa, FL (April 11, 2019) - Police are in search of a driver after a 33-year-old woman died in hit-and-run that took place on Wednesday, April 10th.
A female pedestrian, who has not been identified, was walking in the area of Nebraska Avenue, near the intersection with 112th Avenue East, around 8:45 p.m. At the same time, a woman driving a moped was traveling northbound on Nebraska approaching the intersection. That is when police say the moped struck the pedestrian. The moped driver was ejected and thrown into the roadway following the crash. At least one passing vehicle ran over the woman as she was in the road and failed to stop at the crash scene.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she later died. The pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS.
