Tampa, FL (October 9, 2018) - The victim of a fiery crash that occurred on October 2nd has been identified by police.
Dan Allmond was driving a 2012 Nissan Sentra under on overpass on I-75 when a tractor-trailer plummeted over the bridge above and landed on Allmond's vehicle. The force crushed the vehicle. Allmond died from injuries sustained in the accident. I-75 was shut down in all directions following the crash.
Allmond is being remembered by his family and friends as a passionate local actor who played roles at a community theater in Tampa and also acted in three independent films. There is no word at this time on whether charges will be issued as a result of the crash.
A fatal crash is reported approximately every 8 hours in Florida. Our condolences go out to the loved ones of Dan Allmond. We are saddened to hear of this tragic fatal accident.
