Tampa, FL (November 1, 2018) - A serious wrong-way crash occurred on the Howard Frankland Bridge around 2:00 am on Thursday, November 1st.
Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene in the northbound lanes of the roadway. An initial investigation reveals that 25-year-old Andy Andreia Cuff, Jr. made a U-turn on the bridge and then began traveling southbound in the northbound lanes. After approximately two minutes, Cuff's vehicle collided head-on with a 2013 Hyundai. The collision occurred near the exit for 4th Street.
24-year-old Andrea Nicole Rusch is identified as the Hyundai driver. Rusch and Cuff were transported to St. Joseph's Hospital. Rusch suffered critical injuries while Cuff suffered serious injuries. Cuff was discharged from the hospital around 6:00 am and later charged with driving under the influence.
