Taylor County, FL (May 26, 2020) - A 28-year-old woman was killed in a deadly accident in Taylor County on Memorial Day, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The crash was reported just after 2:00 a.m. on County Road 361.
According to troopers, an 18-year-old man was driving a sedan when he failed to navigate a curve near Adams Beach. The sedan veered off the roadway and onto the westbound shoulder. After leaving the road, it collided with several trees before coming to rest in the woods. The driver was airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 19-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries. A 28-year-old female passenger died at the crash scene. The deceased victim has not been identified at this time.
The crash is still under investigation at this time.
In 2018, there were 3,224 people killed in Florida car accidents. Unfortunately, our state continues to see a rise in the number of serious and fatal accidents reported each year. Drivers who fail to heed traffic laws and drive carefully can cause a catastrophic accident as a result of their actions. These accidents can and do claim innocent lives on a daily basis.
