The Villages, FL (January 5, 2020) - Three people sustained injuries in a crash that took place along US 301 on Friday, January 3rd. The crash happened on US 301 at the intersection with County Road 466.
According to reports, Russell Everson of Dacula, GA was driving a 2018 Ford Edge on US 301 around 1:40 p.m. when he came to the intersection with County Road 466. As he approached a flashing yellow traffic signal he collided with a 2011 Chevy Aveo driven by 18-year-old Audal Santibanez Villegas. Villegas and his two passengers were taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries. Witnesses told police that Villegas had a solid green light when the crash occurred.
Following an investigation, Everson was given a ticket for failure to yield.
