Vero Beach, FL (November 22, 2019) - A 72-year-old woman from Vero Beach was seriously hurt and another person was hospitalized following a crash on Friday, November 22nd. The accident took place on Indian River Boulevard near the intersection with 18th Street.
The Vero Beach Police Department responded to the crash scene. According to reports from officials, a 2017 gray Scion was traveling southbound on Indian River when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto 18th Street. As the driver was turning, she collided with a 2012 Dodge Ram that was traveling northbound on Indian River. The driver of the Scion was airlifted to a hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for her injuries. A passenger in the Dodge, 19-year-old Hector Gonzalez was hospitalized for a head injury following the accident.
The road was closed down for approximately two hours while police were on the scene but later opened and traffic resumed to normal. No further details are available at this time.
