Vero Beach, FL (November 29, 2020) - One person was killed and several others injured following a multi-vehicle collision on the Florida's Turnpike in Vero Beach. The crash was reported on Saturday evening near mile marker 173.
A total of seven vehicles were involved in the accident, including a semi-truck and six cars. Police say that a white female in her 60s was killed in the crash and four other injured victims were taken to Lawnwood Medical Center for treatment. Two of the victims suffered serious injuries while the other two sustained minor injuries. There is no word on what caused the accident at this time and authorities have not released the identity of the deceased victim.
Traffic was diverted at the scene and motorists were advised to avoid the area if possible.
An investigation into the accident remains ongoing. There is no word on charges at this time. No further information is available.
