Vero Beach, FL (November 3, 2018) - Three people were injured in a crash that took place in Vero Beach on Wednesday, October 31st.
The crash involved two vehicles and occurred on Sixth Avenue around 3:30 pm. Investigators on scene say that a gray Volkswagen Jetta was traveling south on Sixth Avenue. At the same time, a Jeep Cherokee was traveling north on Sixth Avenue behind a third vehicle. The Jeep moved left in an attempt to pass the third vehicle. However, in the process of moving left, the Jeep collided nearly head-on with the Jetta.
The Jeep driver was ejected from his vehicle in the crash. A front seat passenger was also seriously hurt and transported by ambulance to a trauma center. The Volkswagen driver was extricated from the vehicle and also transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The Vero Beach Police Department continues to investigate the crash. None of those involved have been identified at this time.
