Our condolences go out to the family of Catherine Clark following this tragic Volusia County crash. Fatal accidents are a daily occurrence in Florida. According to statistics, a fatal crash is reported around once every three hours. The causes of these crashes vary, and each fatal accident must be carefully investigated in order to determine how it occurred and which driver is at fault.
In many fatal accidents, one or more innocent victims will lose their lives as a result of another person's negligence. In this case, the surviving family members may be able to bring a Florida wrongful death claim against the negligent driver. These claims can be brought up to two years after the date of death and allow a next-of-kin to recover valuable compensation, including funeral and medical expenses, loss of companionship, and more.
