Volusia County, FL (August 1, 2019) - A man from Orange City died in a motorcycle crash on Tuesday, July 30th. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Broadway Street.
According to police, 27-year-old Yohary Gonzalez Burgos was traveling westbound on Lakeshore Drive when he came up behind a pickup truck driven by 64-year-old John Ridenour. The truck was pulling a trailer and traveling southbound on Broadway Street. Ridenour came to a stop as he entered the intersection. Our condolences go to the family of Yohary Gonzalez Burgos for their loss in this tragic crash. Motorcycle accidents happen quite frequently and tend to be severe. Although only 3% of all registered motor vehicles are motorcycles, an astounding 14% of all traffic-related fatalities involve motorcycles. While a motorcycle can bring fun and enjoyment for many, the dangers of riding cannot be underscored enough.
