Volusia County, FL (August 22, 2021) - Authorities in Volusia County responded to the scene of a fatal accident on Sunday, August 22nd. The crash happened around 3:00 a.m. on State Road 46 near the intersection with Dusty Lane.
Police say that a sedan was traveling westbound on SR 46 when the driver veered out of their lane and into the path of an oncoming SUV driven by a 32-year-old man from Sanford. The Sanford man and the driver of the sedan, a 23-year-old man from Merritt Island, died at the crash scene. A passenger in the sedan, a 27-year-old woman from Mims, was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation at this time. None of the victims have been identified.
