Walton County, FL (July 27, 2018) – A multi-vehicle crash claimed two lives in Walton County around 5:00 a.m. Wednesday. The accident happened on I-10 near the DeFuniak Springs exit.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to an accident and found that a pickup truck was being driven by Zachary Whiddon at the time. He traveled off the roadway and into the grass median, where the vehicle overturned. The 23-year-old lost his life in the accident.
A toolbox from the truck crashed into the vehicle’s windshield. This caused the 63-year-old driver to lose control and collide with the wood line. The other driver was also killed, but his identity has not yet been released.
There were immense closures in the area for a few hours.
