West Miami-Dade, FL (January 9, 2019) - A crash involving a box truck and several other vehicles resulted in injuries to several people in West Miami-Dade. The incident took place in the northbound lanes of the Palmetto Expressway near Southwest 8th Street on Tuesday, January 8th.
The Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue were called to the scene of the accident around 3:00 pm. The box truck was carrying televisions at the time of the crash and many of the TVs could be seen in the road following the collision. A Honda and a minivan were also involved in the accident. In total, four people sustained injuries in the accident but only one of the injured victims was hospitalized. Traffic in the area was slow due to clean up and police investigation.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
We hope for a quick recovery for those affected by this crash in West Miami-Dade. Each year, about 250,000 injury accidents are reported. We do not yet have enough information to determine which driver was responsible for causing this crash. Police will continue to investigate in an effort to decide which person was the negligent driver.
