West Palm Beach, FL (January 10, 2020) - A deputy from West Palm Beach was hurt in a crash on Thursday, January 9th.
According to authorities, deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office attempted to make a traffic stop when the driver sped away. The car was then spotted in an apartment complex shortly after the attempted stop. When deputies approached the vehicle and ordered the occupants to exit, the driver then put the truck in reverse and ran over a deputy standing in the parking lot. The truck came to rest and the driver fled on foot before being apprehended.
The injured officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Charges are pending against two men and a woman in the truck.
