Weston, FL (January 3, 2019) - In a tragic incident, an employee of the Cleveland Clinic was killed after being struck by a car outside the emergency room. The crash happened around 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 2nd.
Officials with the Broward Sheriff's Office and Fire Rescue division were called to the Cleveland Clinic Boulevard in reference to the crash. According to reports from the scene, the employee was in a crosswalk when she was struck by a car. She suffered immediate cardiac arrest due to head and chest injuries and was rushed inside the hospital. However, rescue efforts were unsuccessful and she succumbed to her injuries.
Police have not identified the victim and reports indicate that the driver remained on scene following the crash. An investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing at this time.
