Windermere, FL (April 13, 2021) - One driver was killed and another was killed in a head-on accident that occurred in Windermere on Monday, April 12th. The accident happened around 4:20 p.m. on Winter Garden Vineland Road near the intersection with Overstreet Road.
According to officials, a 72-year-old man from Orlando was driving a sedan northbound on Winter Garden Vineland Road. For unknown reasons, the man's vehicle veered off the road on the right and collided with a cable box. The vehicle then traveled back onto the road and went across the median before it collided head-on with another vehicle. The driver of the second car, a 26-year-old man from Kissimmee, died at the accident scene. The 72-year-old man was taken to Advent Health where he was treated for serious injuries. Neither of the drivers has been identified at this time.
There is no further word on the cause of the crash or whether charges are expected. No additional information is available at this time.
