Zephyrhills, FL (March 11, 2019) - A 51-year-old pedestrian lost his life in a crash that took place over the weekend. Police responded to US-301, near Vinson Avenue, around 7:30 p.m. in reference to a vehicle-pedestrian collision.
When police arrived, they discovered that 44-year-old John Motzer was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Venture in the northbound lanes of the highway. At the same time, Terry Putz was walking across the same lanes in the westbound direction when Motzer's vehicle collided with Putz. Putz was rushed to AdventHealth Zephyrhills, where, sadly, he succumbed to his injuries. Motzer was not injured in the crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating and charges may be pending, according to reports.
