  • Umatilla, FL - One Killed in Two-Car Crash on County Road 42

    Police responded to the scene of a fatal car accident in Umatilla early Saturday morning. The crash crash was reported around 2:15 a.m. along County Road 42. According to Cpl. Crystal Sollazo with the Florida Highway Patrol, a female driver was operating a pickup truck eastbound on County Road 42 when she entered a curve. For unknown reasons, her vehicle left the eastbound lanes and collided head-on with an SUV traveling westbound on CR 42. The driver of the pickup truck suffered critical injuries and died at the scene. The SUV driver, also a female, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported in serious condition.
