A construction worker working on a large highway expansion project was killed in an accident on Monday, February 4 in Winter Park. The Orange County Fire Rescue was called to the scene along Interstate 4. Officials say that the worker was struck by a drainage pipe. As workers were moving the pipe it fell and struck the man in the head. The victim, who has not been identified at this time, died from his injuries. Read More
A man was sent to the hospital on Sunday, December 9th after he got his arm stuck in a conveyor belt at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. The Orange County Sheriff's Office was called to the 1100 block of Buena Vista Drive around 1:00 pm in reference to the event. Deputies say that the man was visiting the Miss Adventures Falls attraction when his arm became stuck in the belt. It was not immediately clear what caused the incident to occur. Officials from Reedy Creek Fire Rescue were also called to the scene and were able to free the man's arm from the belt. He was later airlifted to Osceola Regional Medical Center for treatment.
