St. Petersburg, FL – Critical Injuries for Motorcyclist Following Hit-and-Run on Central Ave.

St. Petersburg, FL (September 18, 2022) – The St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle on Saturday, September 17th. The accident was first reported around 11:00 a.m. in the 5100 block of Central Avenue.

St. Petersburg, FL (September 18, 2022) – The St. Petersburg Police Department responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle on Saturday, September 17th. The accident was first reported around 11:00 a.m. in the 5100 block of Central Avenue.

According to a report from police, a 21-year-old man was traveling eastbound on Central Avenue when a car swerved into his motorcycle. The motorcycle then swerved into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into another vehicle. The driver of the car fled the area after the accident. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for critical, life-threatening injuries. 

Officials are looking for a Lincoln Mercury in connection with the accident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department.
