Meet attorney Darryl Rouson from our St Pete office.

Darryl was born in New Orleans and raised in Florida. He became the first African American prosecutor in Pinellas County. Public service prominence in fighting for the rights of others resulted in his election in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.

Your were raised in--and now serve in--the Tampa Bay area. What's your favorite thing about where you live? The diversity of the Bay Area, and the vibrancy of downtown.

What would we be most surprised to learn about you? That I am a grill master. I love to makes steaks on the grill. I can also find my way around the kitchen. I am constantly making Louisiana dishes: gumbo, a good jamabalaya.

If you could meet anyone, from the past or present, who would it be? What would you talk about? Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I'd ask him about his darkest moment and what kept him going.

What's your ideal Saturday? Morning cycle with my wife. We're building up toward reaching 40 miles. Then a late brunch, colelge football, and steaks on the grill.

What teams are you rooting for? Gators--that's my Florida team. And I'm a Notre Dame fan.

What do you like about working at Rubenstein Law? Being part o a team of dedicated, hard-charging personal injury professionals who fight for the injured.

What are you most passionate about? Mental health and substance abuse. On March 17, I celebrated 22 years without drink, drugs or smoke. I speak about drug treatments and outreach to the recovering community.
